Introduction

This section

Students learn as much from their peers and experiences outside the classroom as they do inside. That’s why we offer an outstanding, rich variety of extra-curriculum activities.

Then, there’s excellent pastoral care to support and sustain our pupils throughout their time here and beyond.

We are also very lucky to have such an inspirational environment to live and work in, a magnificent backdrop to shape the character of the education we provide.

Of course, the spiritual dimension of life is never far away at Ardingly. We have a strong Christian tradition, but welcome pupils of all faiths and none. Together, we gather regularly to celebrate our collective life, to renew our sense of purpose and have space and time for reflection.

A Typical Day in the Senior School

Monday to Friday the school teaching day runs from 08.20 – 17.30 interspersed with meals, sport, clubs and academic clinics.

Our day students follow the same structure as our boarders and are encouraged to spend as much time as possible at school.  They may come in for breakfast and stay for supper and evening school at no extra cost and can, if they wish, stay overnight for a nominal charge. Many day students eventually opt to become boarders as they move up the school.

Weekends follow a more leisurely pace of sports fixtures and activities followed by social events and trips which are open to all students, both day and boarding.
