Our aim

This section

Our aim is to have an enchanting and happy environment and do more than simply teach our young children; we introduce them to the pleasure of learning, building their confidence through participating in daily activities and providing opportunities to explore their own individual talents and interests.

Our days are spent learning to play and playing to learn!

Whilst aiming to develop children academically during their time in the Pre-Prep, they are also encouraged to be kind, helpful and to learn to share and enjoy the school environment by taking an active part in their learning.

We understand that children learn everywhere; we support each child to become lifelong independent learners through play that is free flow, allows risk taking, experimentation, awe and wonder in a fun, colourful and creative environment.

Children in the Pre-Nursery and Nursery at Ardingly Pre-Prep participate in many daily activities both inside and out.  These include opportunities to recognise letters and learn sounds, manipulate numbers using Numicon whilst enjoying counting and number recognition activities.  Cutting and sticking activities and creative play with playdough also feature heavily in our days! Our children are  encouraged to be independent and are also taught the practical skills of everyday life, dressing and undressing, putting their shoes on and eating skills.
