The music department completed its busy term literally with jubilation as the Symphony Orchestra and Chapel Choir combined forces to lift the roof of St John’s Smith Square in London with contemporary composer Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo. Other masterpieces in the programme included Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 1, Vaughan Williams’ English Folk Suite, Saint Saens’ Bachannale and Vivaldi’s Gloria. Outstanding student soloists Mark Wang, Lizzie Flood, Matilda Segalini-Bower, Evelein Van-Dijk, Louisa Burnell, Rebecca Horton, Anna Hargrave and Fiona Whiteley, along with the 120 other students, transported the audience with their singing and playing. A truly memorable evening and a fitting way to finish such a successful musical term.
