Our Geography students and staff took a break from the classroom over half term, exploring the stunning landscapes of Iceland!
Our four day trip started with an evening visit to the Blue Lagoon; a luxurious geothermal spa with pools, sauna and steam rooms. The days that followed included visits to spectacular waterfalls, a black sand beach and an impressive rift valley.
A highlight of the trip for many was the glacier walk, where students were kitted out with crampons and a pickaxe ready to traverse the deep crevasses and icy terrain of the glacier. On the final day, having visited some key landmarks in Iceland’s capital, Reykjavík, students were given the chance to explore the city on foot, buying souvenirs and taking in all the sights.
