Ardingly students have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of trips each year. The College runs a large number of academic, co-curricular and service trips, both within the UK and overseas.
The annual trips programme is carefully curated and planned by our staff. Often these trips are some of the most formative and enjoyable experiences in a teenager’s life. The skills they learn, the bonds they form and the sense of adventure they experience often stay with them long into adulthood.
You can see reports on some of our most recent trips below. For more details on our service trips, please see our Partnerships & Charity section of this website.
Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
In addition, we are proud to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. Participation in the DofE programme involves students undertaking memorable expeditions, as well as learning new skills, volunteering/serving in the local community and participating in physical recreation challenges.
All our students take the Bronze DofE Award in Shell (Year 9) and we are delighted by how many then choose to continue with the programme in later years in the Senior School to achieve their Silver and then their Gold Award.
In the Lower School (Years 7 and 8) students undertake a comprehensive Outdoor Education programme, which prepares them well for their future participation in the DofE Award.
