This term we had 20 students undertake an ABRSM exam, 6 gaining distinction. We have housed at least 470 weekly private lessons with Visiting Music Teachers, 44 weekly ensemble coaching sessions, 14 evening concerts, 4 lunchtime informal recitals, a Music@Ardingly day and concert with Harry the Piano, cellist Eddie King, a Piano Duet Concert with 2 of our piano teachers, a trip to Wigmore Hall, and a “Come and Sing” event where the choir were joined by guests and accompanied by student string players to rehearse and sing through Vivaldi’s Gloria and a season of the Musical Nine to Five.

We had a “Hello Yellow” concert led by student Rebecca Horton to raise awareness and funds for Mental Health.

We also had two students – Mark W and Molly H – gain a choral and organ scholarship to Oxford and Cambridge respectively.

This term we have welcomed Hannah Carpenter (Subject lead of Prep School Music) and Tracey Milne (Music Administrator). It is also important to mention our well-loved and passionate singing teacher Mrs Michelle Stone, who, just a few days before term began, tragically and unexpectedly passed away suddenly.

Next term we have more exciting music events to look forward to including the Young Musician of the Year competition, House Music, Music@Ardingly events with The Brass Funkeys and Chr.
