Over February Half Term, Ms. Carr-Bates and Ms. Willis-Wood led a very successful residential trip to New York for fifty of our Dance and Drama students, aged Remove to Upper Sixth. Over five days the students took part in various workshops; Hip Hop at Steps on Broadway, the Lee Strasberg Institute for the actors, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and Stage Combat to name a few.
Students also attended three Broadway Shows, ‘Funny Girl’ featuring the famous Lea Michelle, ‘A Dolls House’ at only its second preview, featuring none other than Oscar winner Jessica Chastain and ‘MJ The Musical’.
Students got a chance to take in the city’s most famous sights, experience an unforgettable singalong at Ellen’s Stardust Diner, ‘shop till they dropped’ and even attend a Knicks Basketball Game at Maddison Square Garden! It was a once in a lifetime extravaganza, that will be cherished for years to come, for both students and staff.
