Huge congratulations to our Year 11 cohort at Ardingly College on achieving a fantastic set of GCSE results today. On every metric, their GCSE results exceeded those from 2019, which was the last ‘normal’ year of public exams before the pandemic. With 29% of their exams awarded the top grade 9 and 48% awarded either a grade 9 or 8, there were many smiles and celebrations as students and their families came into the College to collect the results this morning. Thirteen students even managed a clean sweep of straight 9s, which is an exceptional achievement.
Special congratulations are due to Solomiia H, a refugee from Ukraine, who joined Ardingly College on a full bursary after the outbreak of the war in 2022. Despite all the challenges she has faced in the past year and a half, Solomiia achieved an outstanding set of GCSE results, with all grades at either 9s or 8s. Solomiia commented: “I managed to get excellent results in one year thanks to hard work, the support of my parents, the faith in me from my sponsors, as well as the wonderful teachers from Ardingly College who helped and motivated me throughout the entire educational process… I am very satisfied with my results and very proud of myself. My results not only give me confidence, but also the ability to stay at Ardingly College and get an IB Diploma in the future.”
Well done to all our Year 11 students on their GCSE results and we look forward to seeing great things from this year group as they embark on their sixth form studies next term.
