Last week marked the second Ardingly Slam Poetry competition, which brings pupils together to celebrate the power of the spoken word. Poets representing their houses in the Lower and Middle School respectively performed a mixture of their own verse and published poems that resonated with them.
Topics ranged from the refugee crisis, to making difficult decisions, the climate, homework, and even odes to tangerines! The Slam was an inclusive, open space, giving students a supportive environment to connect with an audience and impress the judges with their performance skills.
