Recently we held our Harris and Argent Science Competition! Made possible by the generosity of Old Ardinians Stephen Bowen (Mertens ’64) and Jeremy Collingridge (Lewington ’64), this competition recognises the inspirational influence of former Ardingly science teachers, David Harris and Nigel Argent, and seeks to cultivate the qualities of “knowledge, inventiveness and excitement” that both teachers exhibited.
This competition is designed to inspire our pupils to dive into the world of science, explore its practical applications, and share their knowledge with enthusiasm and clarity. Because, as we know, science has the power to shape our future and tackle some of humanity’s greatest challenges—from energy and food security to climate change and biodiversity.
Huge congratulations to competition winner Thomas P and congratulations also go to pupils Anthony L, Marta Pe, Koby M Isaac B, Rena Q and Charlotte C for their wonderfully high standard of work.
