“The littlies are housed within a truly delightful farmyard of sympathetically-converted buildings… With plenty of outdoor space, including small sports pitches and forest school, and lovely airy buildings it’s a magical self-contained space devoted to childhood, although qualified teachers work here alongside early years professionals to give the children a head start.”

Muddy Stilettos

Ardingly’s Nursery is housed in our newly restored and specially renovated historic Farmhouse building. This cosy and nurturing setting creates a real ‘home from home’ feel for our very youngest pupils, who are grouped into the Ducklings (for 2 year olds), Lambs (for children turning 3 this academic year) and Piglets (Pre-School, for children turning 4 this academic year).

Nursery Staff

Our Nursery staff are all highly-qualified, with our Piglets Class (Pre-School) taught by a qualified teacher, who guides pupils through daily phonics and maths lessons and enables our Pre-School children to have a significant head start when they enter Reception.

Nursery Play Area

Our Farmhouse Nursery has its own all-weather enclosed outdoor play area, as well as access to the wider Prep School and College facilities such as our very own Forest School and 25 metre indoor swimming pool. Children eat hot meals, all prepared on site by the College’s award-winning catering staff and sourced from local ingredients.

Weekly Nursery activities include:

  • Swimming at the College pool for Pre-School children
  • Dance sessions with a specialist teacher
Forest School sessions led by a trained Forest School leader in Cyril’s Wood (our very own Forest School)
  • ‘Rest time’ for those staying for the afternoon session, providing a calm period before the afternoon activities
