Welcome to our lovely Prep School! I do hope to meet you in person soon and encourage you to come and see for yourself what makes Ardingly Prep such a special school.
I hope that you will be impressed, as I was on my very first visit, to meet such happy, confident children and to understand how our fantastic team of teachers really get to know and value every child as an individual.
When I first visited I was also blown away to see how enthusiastically the children here live our four ‘Us’ values: they were eager to show me how they are adventurous, curious, generous and ingenious every day in their learning!
In terms of my own educational philosophy, I believe in teaching children how to think – not what to think – as well as demonstrating the importance of challenging ourselves by finding ways to get out of our comfort zone. With such a rapidly changing world out there, we need to equip our children with the critical thinking skills, ability to evaluate and persuade, as well as the adaptability that they will need to thrive in the world beyond Ardingly.
As a relative newcomer to Ardingly Prep, it’s difficult to disagree with the recent review in Talk Education which described Ardingly Prep as “a school it’s hard not to fall in love with”. I knew on that very first visit that this was a school I would be proud to lead and where I wanted my own daughter to be educated. I hope you will fall in love with Ardingly Prep too!
