At Ardingly Prep, there are a wide range of initiatives in place to ensure that any pupil who needs additional support with their wellbeing is quickly identified and a tailored support plan will then be put in place.

“Pupils’ wellbeing and positive mental health are prioritised and there is extensive support available for all pupils”

ISI Inspection Report, June 2024

The bespoke support will depend on the child and the issues they are experiencing but could include extra pastoral support from our teaching staff, from older pupils (when the problem is friendship issues), from our Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) or another member of our outstanding Learning Support Team.

Health & Wellbeing Centre

We are also able to draw on support from the College’s Health & Wellbeing Centre, which is a 24/7 facility, staffed by nurses (including a Mental Health Lead Nurse) and Counsellors, where we have a Counsellor who is specially trained and very experienced in supporting younger children.

Wellbeing Garden

Adjoining our Health & Wellbeing Centre is our beautiful new Wellbeing Garden; a peaceful haven were pupils and staff can read, relax and recuperate. There are also private shaded areas where counselling sessions can take place.
